Regal Yum Cha Chinese Restaurant

Yum Cha = 'drink tea'

Here for your viewing pleasure are two food snaps taken at Regal Chinese Restaurant, Sydney's BEST yum cha restaurant!

Regal means twinkling golden chandeliers, clinking teacups and happy background chatter

Wu Kok - yam puffs - Regal Yum Cha RestaurantWu Kok (crispy yam puffs)

Reach out and stop one of the xiao jie (young ladies) pushing past and ask them what they've got to offer (not in that way, you pervert = =).. Their trolleys are stacked high with bamboo baskets filled with treasures just waiting for you to discover!

The wu kok is a yum cha staple~~ delicate, feathery crisps of pastry spun around a savoury mashed yam filling!

Other yum cha favourites (not pictured) include jin cheong fun (rolls of flat rice noodles with shallots, fried until crisp and served with sweet hoi sin and meltingly peanutty sauce) and dan tart (sweet, soft-like-creme-brulee custard egg tarts with flaky pastry) <--- mmm the best
