Pizza & Pancakes @ Pancakes on the Rocks, Sydney

I've always been more of a food photo whore so it was surprising to learn that my brain would supply the visuals when offered delicious literature like 'risotto.. potato diced finely to resemble rice bejewelled with asparagus and peas laced with parsnip puree to make it sweet, nutty and creamy' (link)

Who would have thought words could be so tasty.

Anyway, my brain is dead so I will now stop typing and offer you some photos

Here are a few snaps from some long-ago trip to Sydney's oldest and greatest pancakery ~
Tandoori Chicken Gourmet Pizza at Pancakes on the RocksTandoori Chicken Gourmet Pizza ($17.95)... a crispy pita base topped with mild morsels of tandoori chicken, chopped onions, crunchy cashew nuts and mozzarella.
Yup, you can almost feel the sweet sweet mango chutney, dollops of yoghurt and chopped mint partying on your tongue.

Devil's Delight at Pancakes on the Rocks
The notorious
Devil's Delight Pancakes ($13.95). The menu said that they were 'to die for' .......like literally? When they arrived, the chocolate pancakes were the shizz of the table. They came with a generous topping of thick cream and chocolate icecream, icing sugar snow and drizzlings of choocolatey sauce.

The first bite was steaming and lusciously yummy, but by the end all I could say was THANK GOD there was a side of fresh strawberries to help me get over all that chocolate

Prices were pretty decent, ranging from $8 entrees to $15 mains/desserts, and decor was warm and relaxed, with a lot of polished timber and golden lighting.

Food on offer consists of pizza, crepes, ribs, salads and pancakes (of course)... all that grub makes this pancake house what some might call a ROCK solid family pleaser... haha!
