Lee's Malaysian, The Pavilion Sydney

Malaysian food tastes better.

In Malaysia, that is.

But suddenly, once you're back in Sydney, it's hard to find food to get excited about. Shops that you THOUGHT served awesome malaysian food now smack of Boring in comparison to the 'real deal' back in Malaysia. Suddenly, you have turned into a malaysian food snob.

But there are spots that have stayed sweet. Like Mamak, where we still like our roti kaya, fish curry, and the teh tarik that is Better Than Opium.

And then there's the cafe in Ashfield that's so popular it doesn't even need a name, and only stays open for about 4 hours a day. Order 10-second flames-in-the-wok noodles, the hainan chicken and definitely the bak kut teh

And then there's Lee's Malaysian in Pavilion Square ~

The crazy thing about this store is it's the only one that, come lunch hour, has a queue stretching up the whole eastern side of the complex! And with good reason ~ the food is fast cheap fresh and taaaasty, and service comes with a smile =) yup it really does. Next time I must take a photo of the smiley Lee family to prove it

Apart from hainan chicken rice they also do good laksa. and chicken satay skewers
