More Ichiban Boshi, The Galleries Victoria Sydney

Ichiban Boshi, japanese restaurant in SydneyTODAY INSIDE Ichiban Boshi it is busy and bright. Not only are the lights on inside, but one entire side of this Jap restaurant is panelled with glass so the sunlight shines down on the happy eaters.

Peer over the edge and you can see the rest of The Galleries Victoria - the Sunglasses hut, Mooks and other funky random clothes shops :)

Tokyo Ramen at Ichiban BoshiTokyo ramen for $9.30

Curry is a wonderful thing, but if like me you're not terribly good at handling your chilli (my mouth explodes into flames and I can't taste anything else for the rest of the meal) and you usually try to avoid dishes with the words 'chilli', 'spicy', 'Thai' or 'curry' in the name ... well I have some good news for you~ Japanese curry is fragrant, a bit sweet and just mildly spicy.

Ebi Curry at Ichiban BoshiEbi curry at Ichiban ($13) is actually even tastier than the ebi don I had the last time we came. Check out the big fat prawns with crunchy coatings that you can pick up with your fingers and dip into the lovely brown curry sauce

Fresh chopped salad hides under the ebi pieces, and if you're not a salad person you can go for the yummy pickles on the side, orr alternatively smother everything in curry sauce hehe :D

And if your plate is not licked 100% clean, fear not. There is plenty of fluffy, yummy rice to mop up any leftover sauce with, and a bowl of hot miso soup that makes you go 'I'm lovin' it!' at the end.
