Yummy Links o1

At the risk of sounding like a sap, these three sites are like childhood friends hehe. They have been strong, solid, UNFALTERING companions since I discovered the foodernet. Need I tell you that they are awesome! and they were 10x more awesome back then, when there weren't as many yummy sites around

Of course, there are hundreds of wonderful yummy sites around nowadays !
There are even events dedicated entirely to celebrating good food -O- !

1. Jo's Deli & Bakery
A collection of Malaysian recipes for both savouries and sweet cakes + accompanying photos. The first recipe I attempted from here (well I think my friend did the actual measuring and baking bits and I was given a spoon to mix the batter) was the honey chiffon cake, and twas a delicious success ! ---> and was quickly followed by coconut chiffon, lemon chiffon, chocolate chiffon (why mess with a good thing), etc

Yummy recipes on the Still-To-Cook List include Crispy Chinese NY Stars, Egg Tarts (but with a flaky pastry instead of shortcrust = sooo difficult!), Kaya Puffs and Pandan Coconut WAFFLES! - have to beg/borrow/steal a waffle iron off someone for this

2. Cafe of the East: (now Corner Cafe)
A blog by SeaDragon that's also packed with mostly South-East Asian cookies and sweet treats! Check out peanut cookies, pineapple flower tarts, strawberry mooncake, pandan roll and kuih dadar, yum ! I just love visiting this blog to drool over all the photos hehe.

Eating Asia Screenshot
3. Eating Asia
Warning!! these guys and their photographs may make you want to get out and backpack through South-East Asia. This is the blog of two travellers (one writer and one photographer) eating their way around Asia. Oh man, I can only imagine what wonderful fun that would be

Each post tells the story of an intimate food encounter - it's as much about Asian culture and the people they meet along the way as it is about the food itself - but there are plenty of beautiful food photos to keep you drooling :)

Read about malaysian rojak, viet crab soup, malaysian donuts, malay duck/char siu noodles, viet pork rolls, thai crispy pork/sausages
