Are your feet worn out from pounding the city streets? Take a turn down Sussex St and enter Sushi Rio, a calming nirvana that offers beautifully presented, East-meets-West sushi, on the same street as Kobow Korean BBQ and French Riviera Ice-creamery.

An interesting black-and-white light fixture hangs near the front, casting a pretty glow over the elegant, low-lit interior.

Irrashimase! greets you upon entry as you take your seat alongside the sushi train tracks. These run around an island in the middle of the restaurant, where the sushi chefs stand, deftly shaping and slicing the sushi right before your eyes

Background music was sweet and pleasant ~ Sushi-Rio is totally designed for chillaxing in style! Order piping hot, smoky green tea, then sit back and wait for something tasty to chug-chug past.

Here we have some more photos of the sushi train passengers that we abducted (bahaha)

Prices are mid-range for a sushi train, with most dishes ringing in at $3-3.50.

Sushi Rio is a conveniently located, almost therapeutic escape from the CBD rush - all that's missing is a statue of Buddha at the entrance and a few joss sticks (..but for that you can go to Chinta Ria XD)

Do you know if they'd take a booking for about 20 people?

lol! that would be a large chunk of the entire restaurant..
i'd guess that a friday night booking would be refused, but an early weekday booking, during an off-peak time might have a chance? haha either way it doesn't hurt to ring, good luck
